CDMA EVDO and EVDV evolution comparison

Today in cellular systems, especially in cdma systems, we’ve heard a lot about the operators who use third-generation CDMA technology is CDMA EVDO which is now used by CDMA operators such as Bakrie Telecom in Indonesia with its product named AHA, and  that has Smart Telecom already conduct the tests in various areas such as Bali etc
Now I try to see the outline of the CDMA technology revolution, especially for data rate access.

Migration of cdma2000 that provides a wireless technology that enables a “wire-line equivalent” user experience (high data rates) and economics (low cost per Megabyte) to become Data Only and Internet-like’ (i.e., tolerant of delays and asymmetric) data service stimulates the existing of EV-DO which has directly connection to Packet Data Network and  new forward link structure designed to increase throughput.

LTE and WiMAX fight to win the 4G technology standard

The fight between WiMAX technology (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) and LTE (Long Term Evolution) to win the 4G mobile technology standard (fourth generation) in the world going increasingly fierce in 2010. Research firm Allied Business Intelligence (ABI) Research Inc. estimates that by 2010 there will be approximately 132 trials of commercial LTE network in the world. That is, test LTE network in the world increased by about 32, more than what happens in the world in 2009.

The battle between LTE with WiMAX it first occurs in developed countries, and later spread to countries berkembang.Ini occurs because the developed countries first adopt the 4G standard, rather than developing countries. The most striking example of a situation reflected in the United States (U.S.). At present, there are three cellular operators who are committed to serving in the U.S. 4G service.

NSN and Nokia Successful Test of Commercial LTE 800 MHz

Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) and Nokia successfully test LTE network for the first time in the 800 MHz frequency band. This success is very good news considering the spectrum is known as the digital dividend, which is available when the terrestrial TV broadcasters switch from analog to digital.

Because the ability of the interesting wave propagation, Digital Dividend spectrum is ideal for providing broadband service to move fast and cost effective. This successful interoperability test of efforts to accelerate the commercialization of LTE in this frequency band, primarily to accelerate deployment of LTE for broadband Internet access in rural areas

The success of interoperability testing marks a step forward in determining the commercialization of LTE in these bands, especially accelerating the spread in rural areas. Because basically the ability to attract, Digital Dividend spectrum is ideal for mobile broadband service that provides fast and cost effective. It is expected that with the success of this trial, LTE distribution to rural areas will be increasingly felt. Digital Dividend spectrum is also said to be ideal in providing a fast moving service, no cost-effective.
