The fight between WiMAX technology (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) and LTE (Long Term Evolution) to win the 4G mobile technology standard (fourth generation) in the world going increasingly fierce in 2010. Research firm Allied Business Intelligence (ABI) Research Inc. estimates that by 2010 there will be approximately 132 trials of commercial LTE network in the world. That is, test LTE network in the world increased by about 32, more than what happens in the world in 2009.
The battle between LTE with WiMAX it first occurs in developed countries, and later spread to countries berkembang.Ini occurs because the developed countries first adopt the 4G standard, rather than developing countries. The most striking example of a situation reflected in the United States (U.S.). At present, there are three cellular operators who are committed to serving in the U.S. 4G service.
Allied Business Intelligence Inc. Bhavya Khanna. ABI admitted, the current position of WiMAX‘s start pushed by LTE. One of the most obvious example is the Russian cellular operator Yota Ltd. had left the switch to WiMAX and LTE. ABI noted, Yota long-4G WiMAX offers mobile services in Russia. But after attending LTE, WiMAX Yota left.
ABI explained, WiMAX will not be immediately surrendered to LTE, because not all mobile operators in the world capable of taking such radical steps undertaken Yota. One example is the United States cellular operators (USA), Clearwire Corp.. At this time, Clearwire already provides WiMAX services in the U.S.. To provide WiMAX, Clearwire already invested around $ 2, 8 billion. After LTE appears, Clearwire WiMAX is beginning to doubt.
We should know that currenltly available on WiMAX smartphone, namely EVO 4G, produced by HTC Corp. With these smartphones, consumers can feel the real benefits of WiMAX. Recording industry, HTC became the first manufacturer to offer 4G smartphone. EVO 4G first introduced in March 2010. HTC EVO 4G develop cooperation with Google Inc. Therefore, any EVO 4G uses the Android operating system, developed by Google. Seeing a buzz HTC, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. is eager to pursue. Therefore, in June 2010 introduced a smartphone Samsung 4G Epic.
Similar to the EVO 4G, 4G Epic rely on WiMAX technology for 4G mobile network access. Still the same with the EVO 4G, 4G Epic also relies on the Android operating system. However, although WiMAX struggled to maintain its existence, ABI confirmed, the position will be cornered by LTE, WiMAX. Therefore, ABI believes LTE network equipment sales volume in the world will continue to increase in 2010 and 2011. As a result, ABI predicts, sales volume will exceed the LTE network equipment WiMAX in 2011. Estimates about the collapse of the domination of the global 4G WiMAX on the market not only come from the ABI.
Research firm Strategy Analytics Inc., asserted, LTE will dominate the global cellular modem market in 2014 because at that LTE will dominate the global market share of around 42 percent. Research firm International Data Corp. (IDC) also add, in 2010 there will be more than a dozen new LTE network in the world. IDC also emphasized that spending would exceed WiMAX LTE equipment in 2011. IDC explains, LTE, getting stronger because of the support of more than 100 mobile operators worldwide, including nine of the ten largest cellular operator in the world.
WiMAX and LTE camps fierce fight to win the 4G technology standard for 4G service besar.ABI promising extraordinary income estimates, 4G services will generate global revenues of at least $ 70 billion in 2014.

both wimax and lte are based off of ofdm spectrum. its just a matter of sprint/clear sending out a patch for an update tune the speed up and guess what? lte?? YES!!! so wimax is available NOW. that is why sprint chose wimax and because its less expensive. its called the NOW network for a reason. because is READYNOW. when lte is up and running and free of problems i believe sprint will tune it up and switch with no problems.
yes, Wimax is ready now, sure it can beat at the moment, but it will nice fight if LTE is ready next year,
Thank you for the info, I am truly looking forward to the Samsung Epic 4G, despite the fact that I have always been pretty interested in gizmos, for a long time I have been seeking for my first smartphone and I did not get it yet. The actual explanations are really simple: each couple of months there is a revolution in the market (hard to consider!) and prices right here in Brazil are pretty abusive. Maybe I would enter this world in excellent style with a Samsung Epic 4G. I hope so.
welcome pricilla…lets see samsung 4G product could make you happy or not
excellent… i think should have good enough in pricing :
