ESPN launch 3D TV Sports Network

ESPN as a world leader of sports channel launching first three dimensional ( 3D ) TV channel. ESPN and ABS Sports president George Bodenheimer said that ESPN 3D content new technology for enhancing fan’s viewing experience in watching sports station. The Disney as owner network will have 85 live sporting events beginning in kickoff FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa on June, 11th 2010.
To do that, viewers must have 3D ready TV set, may need a new top box additional and has to subscribe new cable pay tier. At last, viewers must wear 3D glasses to watch 3D broadcast from ESPN. Just for refeshing that ESPN is 80 percent owned by ABC, Inc. , which is an indirect subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. The Hearst Corporation holds a 20 percent interest in ESPN.

This is good news for digital Television broadcasting for customers. They can have high quality Digital Television Broadcasting. Not only in sports, the 3D Television will have in other kind of broadcast like Entertainment in 3D High Definition ( HD ), game, etc.
You can imagine what you get if you are watching some sports event like motoGP, football, or playing games and animation in 3D TV channel.

ESPN said it has been trial tested for such channel like football for two years. They tested in USC’s campus which shows match football between USC versus OSU college. So they has developed best practices in live game to make sure that ability for streamline workflow operation running well, same with testing in transmission line, and also 3D glasses and 3D telecast.  Good news for us to watch FIFA World Cup 2010 in 3D TV channel. ESPN said it also tested USC-Ohio state game in theaters.
But we have to make clear about shell out cash to see sports channel in 3D, because as mentioned above we need pay more for subscribe, buying special set top box which is roling this year and of course 3D glasses.
We will see about the news, have a good watching at sports especially for FIFA World Cup 2010 .
