The headlines of newspaper discussed that Indonesia was recorded as the country with the telecommunications industry with the lowest price and the number of players (operators) the most. Indonesia has 10 operators whereas in other countries like Australia and Philippines just has 4 operators. Korea, China, and Malaysia just 3 operators, etc.
Before the war tariff, the cost of telecommunications in Indonesia is ranked second after China’s most expensive.
After tariff war, Indonesia becomes a country which has lower prices same with Hongkong. The rank of lower tariff next is India, Thailand, Malaysia and Korea. Yeah all of them coming from Asia countries. This is very phenomenon in this year, we can note this before going to next new year 2010.
The tariff war in Indonesia got benefit by Bakrie Telecom as CDMA operator in Indonesia.
When GSM operator launch their new tariff which rapidly changes from one week to another, Bakrie Telecom with its product brand name Esia offers some feature that their mobile subscribers can get benefit and use GSM tariff in their CDMA phone.
Esia subscriber with use their own CDMA card, can choose GSM operator tariff they want.
The feature called ‘Esia Bispak ‘ abbreviation from ‘ Esia Bisa Pake tarif manapun’ means Esia can use another tariff. Bispak in Indonesia has negative connotation which describe like ‘ bitch’ but I think it just marketing strategy by Bakrie Telecom when other GSM tariff launch.
Briefly, using this feature Esia’s subscriber can try GSM tariff and get benefit 10 % discount of GSM tariff mentioned. This is only for Esia subscriber prepaid, and they can send some keyword to shortcode 212 like below for changes the tariff :

But before that you should activate ‘ Esia Bispak’ with sending keyword ‘BISPAK’ to 212.
For registering to 212 you should pay Rp. 50 ( + tax ) and changes tariff fee Rp 2000 ( +tax )
and you should have minimum main balance Rp 2500 before registering.
For one day, you only permitted changes tariff maximum one time in one day, the changes can be like this :
1. From Esia ? to Esia BISPAK ? back to Esia
2. From Esia Bispak B ? to Esia BISPAK A ? back to Esia
3. From Esia Bispak S ? to Esia ? to Esia Bispak M ? back to Esia
